Progress & Presents!!

Boys will be boys!!
I was blessed with three today. Wow, I am not used to that. I loved the laughter and the happy noise, but I am blessed that two have gone home, and my little one is happily playing alone and quiet!! When we stopped by the house, there was lots of work going on, so I asked the boys to stay outside and in the back, so at least I knew they were safe and I could see them, this pile of dirt was a magnet for ALL three of them. :-)

Zack, John , & Jesse

This might look like just lots of wires, and clutter, but to ME this is progress. The electrician was there today, and so much was happening. I asked lots of questions, and even found out the lay out of the kitchen! :-)

I was asked about the writing on the walls, I was ready to defend the words, but I was surprised when the gentleman said, " I am reading and praying as we work". People I don't know are praying for my house. That means so much to me. I was reminded last night, by a high school friend, that there is a verse in the bible that tells us to write His words on the door frames and walls of our hearts. No wonder I felt "God's nudging" to do these.

Deuteronomy 6:7-9
7“You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.8“You shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontals on your forehead. 9“You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Please remember that we still have fundraisers to help offset the cost of the appliances.

I have had two dear friends that have offered to help me raise the funds for the appliance fund. Corrina and Amy, all I can say is THANK YOU!! If you have questions about why I need to raise these funds let me know, I did go into detail about it in an earlier post. So far to date, I have $276.

Corrina Langworthy is an Independent Sales Director with Mary Kay, she will be taking orders and 100 % of the profits through this link ( as long as you mention my name), will be going into a fund that will be helping me with the purchase of my appliances. You can call her, email her, or go directly to the website and order- www.marykay.com/clangworthy make sure you mention that it is for my appliance fund, and she will take care of the rest. Corrina has also provided me with a few books that you can order from.

I wish I still had my before and after photos that Corrina had me take. Before I started using a daily skin care regiment my face was oily and very uneven,I even had area's that showed my age, I wasn't ready for that. I don't feel like I am ready to face the outside world without my morning routine, and I haven't had any problems with the sunburns that I used to get every summer this year either. I love Mary Kay skin care!!

Amy Neadow Daily, is a good friend of my family, you can visit her Thirty- One website at Amy's 31 Bags. She is willing to give 10% of the profits of orders on products ordered through her website, also she is doing the 100 squares fundraiser. There is 100 squares, selling for $5 each. When the 100 squares are sold, one square will chosen randomly, & the lucky winner will get $200 worth of 31 products. If we are able to fill this board completely up, $300 will be put towards the family appliance fund.
I LOVE Thirty-One!!

Please let me know what numbers that you would like?

The squares that are gone are 1,2,3,4,5,7,8,10,12,13,14,15,20,21,22,24,25,26,28,29,30,31,34,35,40,44,45,46,49,

Connections with God!

I am just loving the speed that things are happening so quickly around the new place. Lord thank you for getting me through the slower weeks. As you see by these pictures, the siding is just over half done, these were taken just after noon, so I am sure by now it is completed. I wasn't able to pick this color siding but I am pleased with it. I have been told that I will have shutters also. :-) It really does look like a house, doesn't it ?

I was blessed by a mission group from Mississippi, that is visiting Renewal Church NT, they spent an hour at the house cleaning, taking care of the trash, and sweeping. Connections with God are amazing!!! For those that do not know I was born in Mississippi and I have been blessed by all the mission teams that have been up from Mississippi and also the ones from Georgia  and Louisiana. God is so good! He continues to bless us!!

Morning of volunteers!! Thank you God!

It was a bright and beautiful morning for our first volunteer Saturday!! With little notice, I wasn't sure who would be there. I was blessed with many people; Sandy, Claudia, Louis, Dan, Regis, Chris, Jeremy, and Jesse. I know that many people say that kids can't help, but the children of the home owners can. Jesse did work hard today, moving tires, branches, filling in holes, and even building sand castles. Was a very productive morning, many trees were dropped, cut up, branches pulled, grape vines pulled, trash picked up, metal poles dug up, glass found, door knobs put on, and even glass block windows started to get put in. Everyone made sure to take water & rest breaks.

Next week we will start providing lunches to the workers. If anyone would like to help out with this; it can be pizza and wings or sandwiches, or fruit and veggies, whatever; please let me know. Even water is needed. AND that can count as volunteer hours.

Just 3 months ago!!

What's Jesse so excited about ??? Well, let me tell you something, just about 3 months ago the spot he is standing on, in the above photo, looked like the photo below.

End of April

Every day there are changes!
I have to remember this even when it doesn't seem like it.
God is in control.
I know that he continues to meet our every need.  I am truly believing that within the next 3 months, we will be living in this beautiful house.

Volunteer work has started!!

Today marks the first day of volunteers to work on the property, even though skilled laborers have been working for months. What a beautiful day for the work to be done, I only wished that I could have stayed and worked along side the group.  Several of the college age adults talked about the group they belong today and when I offered a sharpie during the house tour, they wrote their verse on the door frame. 2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith

I have been told that the next work day will be this Saturday, July 26th- 9:30- 12 noon.  Please let me know if you would like to help and I will give you the contact number that you need to call.

Can you see what I see ?

Lately I have been a little discouraged, I won't lie. It is hard hearing different things from different people. I have been told this is very different from the "normal" building of Habitat for Humanity homes. I can see that. I am anxious. I am excited. I am trying very hard to remain positive I know that it takes time to build a house, I just want to know what is happening, and when.

A friend and I walked through the house earlier today. I had time before they got there to just walk through, reading the walls, I will tell you- the walls speak "powerful messages". I have tried to take a photo of every verse or saying that has been written on the walls, but I am sure that I have missed some.  I am looking forward to the next photo sale at walgreens because I think I have several hundred photos of just verses. That is hundred of "God" inspired verses that my brothers and sisters of Christ have taken the time to write in the house that we will be living in one day this year.

There has been some trim work done in preparation of the siding, the little things that remind me that progress is happening. One day at a time.

Updates on Fundraisers.......

Mary Kay- Corrina Langworthy 100% of the profits will be going towards the appliance fund. If you don't know what to order, I can highly recommend the Satin Hands/Feet sets..... no rough skin for me; also the Timewise set has made a big difference in my skin care regimen, I love these items!!  You can look online at Corrina's MK website- please mention my name.  Mary Kay- Corrina

Thirty- One Products- Amy is offering 10% of the profits of any order will go towards the appliance fund & the 100 square board- with the chance to win $200 Thirty One Shopping Spree. The squares are $5 each- we are HALF way there. 50 squares left. You can also go shopping at the Thirty One website, just don't forget to mention my name- Amy's Thirty-One

I also received an anonymous donation to the appliance fund of $175 THANK YOU!
Total raised so far $276

Being discouraged is not meaning that I am depressed, just that I am tired of being here in the pit, in a hot and muggy house, with a wore out little boy, and sometimes feeling like things  just aren't going "my way". I saved this verse from before and it could not be a better fit for me tonight. He is with me. He hasn't walked away. He is here holding me.  Deuteronomy 31:6 " Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. " Sometimes we just need to be reminded that HE is always with us.

A week of nothing ? Not!!

I have been asked many times over the past week, what has been happening at the house? My answer has been I don't know. It has been kinda quiet on the home front, but I am sure things are happening that we can't see. I do know that more verses have been written on the beams, and floors of the house. Some of them have been very personal but I feel that all have been from God through those who have written them.

When Jesse and I went by it today, my heart sank seeing the yellow caution tape........

Jesse just wanted to run up to the house, but seeing the extra braces up, I wasn't sure what we would find. Sigh of relief when we approached the area......

There is progress even when we don't see the workers. Also have been told that the siding, electric, pluming will be happening soon. I have been informed that there is other things that are happening, but I can't share them on here until they do. I will say that you can't believe everything you read in the newspaper.
As I mention the newspaper, I was told after the fact, that there was an article in; The Sun, a local North Tonawanda paper- which used to be the Metro, this past weekend. I have added a link if you would like to read it online, or you can stop by Budwey's or the North Tonawanda Public Library and snag your own copy.

I was asked if there was a bible verse that has gotten me through the last few years with regarding this house journey. My answer was Psalms 46:10, given to me by a fellow MOPS mom from Amherst Baptist Church, and then it has been given to me many other times, in different situations. This verse is in every room of the house, even as you approach the house on the outside front of the house. Being STILL is hard, waiting is hard, but this house belongs to God. I pray for everyone that works on the house and the land. I pray that others find a relationship with the Lord. God is the reason this house will be for our family. I have no question that he is the one in charge, I am so thankful for the work he is doing in my life and the lives of my children.

I do have a few hours of work available for volunteers that is at the site of my house. If you would like to help on this please let me know.  There is a waiver that you need to have signed and submitted to the local office. If you need a copy of the waiver, please let me know. You need to be at least 16 years of age to work on site, and have this waiver signed.

I have had two dear friends that have offered to help me raise the funds for the appliance fund. Corrina and Amy, all I can say is THANK YOU!! If you have questions about why I need to raise these funds let me know, I did go into detail about it in an earlier post. So far to date, I have $101.
