The final week.... NOT!

Five days before the end of the month, and life hasn't gotten any calmer. We should have been living in the house by now, but like I have said before, this isn't on my timetable. If you can pray, please be specific about your prayers for the sewer line to be connected so the next steps can happen.

This past Thursday I was blessed by Corrina, with the help of getting the house cleaned up to be ready for primer. It was a good day and we both got quite the workout. Saturday we started by cutting the "mud" from around the outlets and switches, then started priming of the walls and ceilings. A few workers, made quick work. Lunch was provided by the Banks family, and Tammy brought something down for Jesse and I to eat, Thank you all! I had several friends stop by to visit and take a peak around, thanks Brenda for delivering more fans and lights. Because of Brenda, I will have ceiling fans in all three bedrooms & the living room.

Today we were blessed by Jeanne's family. We received a sofa, table & chairs, coffee table, tv/entertainment center,  full size mattress and box springs, 2 desks, and an office chair. They also helped move all the items, truly overwhelmed by kindness. Ken & Pat, Sean & Renie & Zayden, Paul & Jim & Jeanne all helped with the moving of the items. I love my friends.

Next Saturday, we should start the final painting. There is a donation of pizza from Lumber City for lunch. Who can help paint this next week ??

My countdown - 9 days!

I have said it before and I will say it over and over.... i have counted down many many times.... and it isn't MY time..... God has a plan for this all. As of right now, there is 9 days left in the month of October and the house will not be done. I am in the middle of so many emotions, but I keep telling Jesse as well as myself,  there has to be a reason for this" God knows the plan, He knows when we will leave this rental for good, He knows when we will spend our first night in the new house, He knows what is best for us." This morning I overheard him on the phone with my mom, and he stated that "he hated this house, but God answered Momma's prayer of a roof over our heads."

There has been little done at the house this week, and for that I have been discouraged. Yesterday, Jeremy was able to sweep some of the (several inches) drywall dust in a few areas of the house, and the equipment was delivered by Jack's Hydroseeding. The yard wasn't done, and the worker seemed shocked that I told him that he was an answer to prayer. (Since there hadn't been any work done at the house). The yard hasn't been done yet, but we will wait. One day at a time.

I did receive the phone call today that priming would be started and finished this Saturday. The goal is to be completely done with priming on Saturday!  I NEED help.  9am-1pm Who is able to help ?? Who can help with lunch for about 12-15 people ?

Bathroom

Wall of boxes

For me, I will keep packing and praying. We are starting to move some furniture from Getzville to the house ( all going to the basement) on Sunday afternoon. 1pm, Who can help ?

Also on a side note..... we can stay at the rental, on a week to week basis, but it comes with a cost. $125 a week, which is more than the monthly rent. Pray that the house is finished quickly.

Seems Impossible ?

I have been asked daily what will happen if the house isn't ready, and my answer is I don't know. Today I am a bit discouraged, there is 12 days left till I have to be completely out of my rental. I have been packing, taping and labelling boxes for weeks. It seems like this is never ending. It seems a little impossible to be completely moved in 12 days.

As for the new place, the above pictures say more than I can. What I do know is that the sanding is suppose to be done today. There will be a shop vac there tomorrow for clean up. I was told that painting would start Monday, but I am not sure. I am being told conflicting things over the last few days. I am just taking things one day at a time. God knows the timing of this all.

Snapshot of God's beauty

Having "trust" in God is an everyday gift. For my family, we have had to live in human time, and for that we have a countdown. On October 31st, I have to be completely out of this rental, that is 14 days away. Yes that is 2 weeks. I need help, can you help me ? Pack, take boxes or furniture from Lasalle to North Tonawanda?  I have set up a facebook event for this task, if you want to be included please let me know.

* Cabinets/flooring ordered

* Spoke to Tile guy- will meet up with him next Thursday to get final order done (pencilled date for him to start is 10/19)

* Plumber/engineer have to connect sewer from sidewalk to street, that entails digging up part of E. Robinson

* Can start storing items in basement last week of the month (after the 25th- pencilled date) - will be setting up a facebook event, please let me know if and will you can help

* Can continue to pack at 81st Street house/apartment. Was given a wonderful supply of boxes, but do need tape & HELP!!

* Looking for another Medium/large pet crate to be used temporarily during the move/ adjustment period into new house

* Will need help with furniture from Getzville. Will need help with move from house/apartment to NT. Will need help from storage unit to NT house.  ( dates to follow)

Once the sewer is connected, and the NEED be items done, a certificate of occupancy can be issued, by the city. The house probably will not be 100% finished when we move in. But I know that God is in control. He knows the plans, better than I ever could. I thank HIM for the peace that has enveloped me.

So many of you know that I update the blog on Saturday afternoon, after a busy morning spent at the house. Yesterday I was not at the house at all, we as a family had something so much more important to do. We joined in the wedding celebration and addition of another young man into our family. The weather held off till after the ceremony, but it didn't damper the joyous tears that flowed in the afternoon. JeanMarie is my oldest child and my only daughter, she found herself the country boy from her dreams, and the three of them were joined as a family!!

JeanMarie, Tom, & Ellie

My kids and I

This morning I was given the opportunity to share a bit of my family's journey and a little about Habitat for Humanity, but without getting "preachy" let me say, God has be carrying me all the way. This is God's house, not ours. God is doing a mighty work in my families lives.  Thank you to Renewal Church of NT, and Randall Church for this morning.

We will be cleaning up the inside of the house this week, in preparation for the team to do the taping and mudding of the drywall. One step at a time. Many hands make light work. I am still working on gathering the funds for the appliances & closing costs. Other needs include painting, installing fixtures, finishing work, lunches, and helping with the actual move. I am also looking for help in planning the dedication/open house/unbirthday party.
Please let me know if you can help.

A different view!

AMAZING!!! Look at that BLESSING!!!!

The driveway
I was told yesterday by Ms. Bush that he would be taking care of the driveway and the back yard today.  That was the earth mover in the sneak peek, and the gourds, I am thankful I picked them too. The millings from the driveway are all spread out It looks so good.  The hill in the back yard is all gone too. It looks so different now. There is still some work to be done, but look at that yard!
God has truly blessed my family!

Backyard

God's fall blessing.

I was asked today about Habitat's "free house", I took a deep breath and used that chance to educate the person a little. Just a quick note about it, I will have a mortgage (for the house/land), pay taxes, pay my utilities, my family and friends have to put in 500 sweat equity hours, plus I will have closing costs & the cost of new appliances ( washer, dryer, microhood and dishwasher). Habitat will provide the stove and fridge. Yes the land was donated, yes habitat did the build, yes they will be working along with my family, that is why it is called a partnership. You can also look back on one of the previous blog entry's from June 10th, and I am willing to answer any questions.

I will close this tonight with a request, please pray for my family. First, my daughter, JeanMarie is getting married tomorrow. Prayers for her special day and for the beginning of a wonderful life as a family. Prayers for the family all to remember this is a wonderful celebration for JeanMarie, Tom, & Sweet Ellie.
Also for Jesse and I; we have both been sick off and on, yesterday I found out that I have the same infection since August, I have been put on a stronger antibiotic and advised to move as soon as possible. This house/apartment is making me sick. We need to get into the new place quickly.
God knows all the details.

October 1st - the last month!

As we begin the "final" month of this countdown, there is still so much to do. I am so thankful that I serve a BIG God. Yes, we need a miracle, and I do believe that it is possible.  I know that there are many doubters out there, including many of my friends and family, & that's ok. God continues to bless my family & I love sharing the blessings.

There is verses throughout the house. I am not sure who wrote them all, I can only say that God nudges me to share them at different times. This is one I saw just yesterday as I was closing a window. It is perfect. I lie down & sleep; I wake again, because the Lord sustains me. Psalm 3:5
