Just over a year ago I received the official letter from Habitat that let me know that my family was chosen for a house.  I was then told, that they didn't know when the construction would begin. I should have started this long ago, but as life happens, I didn't so I will try to update the progress from here on till the day we move in.  The first and second photo were taken mid April, after the longest winter. I had been praying for a "sign" , ANY sign, from God, showing that something was going on. I had a playdate set up with a friend and I drove by the lot, thinking that we would be disappointed again, the sign was there. An actual sign with the address of the house.
That is Jesse, stand next the the sign.

April 22nd, the gas company has been out and has marked where the gas pipeline is.

April 24th, I cried when I saw this. The ground was broken and the house would be started soon. I was sent several photos from friends showing the same thing.

April 26th. This doesn't look deep at all. How can this be deep enough for a basement. That is foundation of the house!!

April 29th, More rain has put a damper on doing anything, this looks more like a pond than the foundation of a house.

May 1st, After a few days of sunny weather, and a delivery of stone, things are progressing some. I wasn't sure what the things were in the "middle" of the basement, but I soon discovered it was the framing of the basement walls.

May 2nd, Cement truck is there!!

Jesse and I stopped by to watch the basement walls being poured, but also discovered some deer tracks, and some wild flowers.

and now we wait for cement to dry.

May 5th, Frames are coming down.

Later in the day, Thanks Burandt, waterproofing has been done on the basement too.

Spent several hours at Raymour & Flanigan Furniture, talking to the customers about Habitat for Humanity.

Fast forward just over a month and the basement walls have been dug, poured, waterproofed, the dirt has been backfilled and the ground leveled again.

Please remember this is written by me, as our families personal journey. This is not an official habitat for humanity blog.
